IMPORTANT

Habitat Bar and Restaurant has now closed at the Riviera House but the good news is that it is relocating to the Long Beach Area and will soon be open.

I will do a review of this veggie/vegan eatery when it opens. In the meantime you can catch the latest news here

Well, as promised after writing a blog about the Riviera Boutique House here is a bit of writing about Habitat, the attached restaurant, and bar. As a vegan, I would love a 100% vegan restaurant on Koh Lanta but I haven’t found one yet. I can think of four vegetarian/vegan restaurants on the island including Habitat and I will review the other three soon plus all eateries that offer vegan options.. My target is two a week as I build up this site.

Well back to Habitat. It is a small cozy bar and restaurant offering real coffee, tasty meals, beers, spirits, cocktails, and even mocktails for non-boozers like me. My beer monster days remain in the past where they belong.

The restaurant is open from 11 am to 6 pm so it is great for lunch or an afternoon snack.

Although, the bar often stays open later.

And I really must take advantage of the packed lunch service one day.

“If you’re taking an excursion and would like to take food with you, just let us know in advance and we’ll pack your choice of lunch in a compostable container with silverware.”

Perfect for a vegan like me or any other vegans out there who are visiting the waterfall or the National Park for a day. I must give it a try.

The food is made from fresh produce and the dishes take about 15 to 20 minutes to create. It is worth the wait, isn’t it?

Have a look at the menu, but take into account the menu changes and there are always daily specials. You don’t have to worry about things such as fish sauce, oyster sauce, and shrimp paste here and Jen understands the importance of no dairy and eggs for us animal-loving vegans too so everything is hunky dory.

I have visited a couple of times. The restaurant/bar has a cosy intimate buzz about it and it’s a good place where locals and visitors can mingle and chinwag about the joys of living on or visiting this gorgeous island in the sun. Jen often holds special events too so follow the Facebook page to keep in the know what and when something special is taking place.

Tucking into your fresh plant-based meals in the restaurant is fab but why not order your food and drinks outside and chill by the pool? And here is a magical bonus – paying customers can use the pool. Brilliant.

And what’s more, if you say the magic words “Psycho Syd” you’ll get Happy Hour prices on your beer.liquor all day long.

What more could you ask for?

Delicious fresh food, a cold drink, and a refreshing swim in the divine saltwater pool. It is definitely worth spending an afternoon here as far as I’m concerned.

I’ll certainly be visiting with my son for a vegan scoff, a mocktail, and a dip in the pool. Maybe I’ll see you there to have a natter about the ins and outs of living in a tropical paradise.

Jen also informs me that her restaurant is dog-friendly so if you are a “love me, love my dog” kinda person like Psycho syd then you can bring your best friend too. I am not sure what Kanom, Habitat’s resident cat thinks about that though. Lol.

Well, that’s all for now but I hope you give Habitat a try. Perfect for vegans like me and even if you aren’t vegan it still makes sense to treat yourself to a healthy meal, a cold drink, and a swim in the pool. doesn’t it?

And I’ll be keeping an eye on Habitat and will attend one of Jen’s events and write a post about it and add it to my blogs. Loving it.

I have just been forwarded today’s menu 19th April 2023 looks good to me
