The Angels Restaurant

Here is another eatery with lots of vegan options. The owner of The Angels Restaurant in Khlong Khong on Koh Lanta tells me that she can veganise anything. I have visited a number of times and have scoffed a vegan burger as well as my usual Massaman curry and they were delicious. Big portions too.

The owners are ever so friendly and listen carefully to what you would like to eat. The restaurant was busy during the high season and is always popular with visiting vegans. It has been open for over 10 years and has many loyal vegan customers.

The posters on the wall include Oasis, Ozzy Osborne, Nirvana, the Sex Pistols, Iron Maiden, The Sex Pistols, Led Zep, and The Misfits. While I was there a few days ago I recall hearing Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Come as You Are by Nirvana, and Zombie by The Cranberries. The music wasn’t loud so we could enjoy the food and chat with my friend with cool tunes playing in the background.

Everything is made fresh so you are warned that on average you have to wait about 30 minutes for your food. But the vibes are good, most visitors snap some images of the posters and listen to the music while either enjoying a cold beer, a hot tea or coffee, or one of the delicious fruit juices. I always get mango juice.

The guy with me is the owner and all the posters on the wall are his collection. He also has a sparkling Royal Enfield motorcycle. A very friendly man who is happy to chat about music, food and Koh Lanta.

Here is a little video of his partner who is in charge of the cooking. She really tries her best to give the customers exactly what they want. I started chatting with her after I had ordered a vegan burger and a mango juice.

So all in all Angels is highly recommended. If you are on the island then give it a try. I cannot find a social media link but I did find a “Happy Cow” link. The first review complains about the length of time they had to wait but stressed that the food was delicious.
