Yesterday, I went to the Yawee Restaurant and got a Massaman potato curry for myself and a Pak Thai for Jo at a cost of just 120 baht (3 GBP) for both. No wonder it is busy every evening including the low season. Excellent value for money and very tasty food with so many vegan options.

I first visited this restaurant with my vegan friend Shelley way back in November 2020 and have been a regular ever since. Whenever I friend of mine visits Lanta I try to fit in Yawee so they can sample traditional Thai food.

As Yawee is a Muslim restaurant you will not get a cold beer here but they do make delicious smoothies and you always get a large jug of drinking water for free. It is always a big plus in my eyes when a restaurant provides free drinking water for those having a meal. Nuff said. As you can see from the image to the right I took my beautiful daughter to Yawee when she visited last October with her boyfriend. They both really enjoyed their meals.

Yawee is open between 9.30 am and 9.30 pm. You will always get a table during the daytime but from 5 pm onwards the restaurant does get busy and sometimes you may have to wait. Believe me, the food is worth waiting for because it wouldn’t be full every evening if it wasn’t, would it?

There are lots of cats at this restaurant and cats being cats they just do as they like. So, if you are a cat lover you’ll have a purring moggy or more to stroke and make a fuss of.

As Yawee has quite an extensive veggie/vegan menu all include it underneath.
